This program is more than activities, it’s about community, culture, and care. We aim to empower seniors with knowledge, connection, and joy.

Lina focused on information about services available for seniors in Nova Scotia and fundings that support low-income seniors.

  • Seniors Care Grant – Available to seniors 65 or older who live independently and have a household income of $45,100 or less. Grants are $750 for each household.
  • Heating Assistance Rebate Program – Helps low-income Nova Scotians with the cost of home heating. Rebates are $400 for each household.
  • Property Tax Rebate for Seniors – Helps low-income seniors with the cost of municipal residential property taxes. Rebates are 50% of what you paid on last year’s property taxes, up to a maximum of $800.
  • Caregiver Benefit – The program provides a monthly benefit to low-income caregivers of adults with disabilities or impairments who meet certain eligibility criteria. the caregiver will receive $400 per month.

  • Identity Theft – Thieves use stolen personal info like SIN, credit card or health card numbers, to impersonate individuals, open accounts, apply for credit, or withdraw funds in their name.
  • Phone & Email Scams – such as Grandparent and impersonation scams.
  • Online Scams – Phishing emails or fake sites trick victims into revealing sensitive information.
  • Investment, Crypto & Renovation Scams – Promises of high-return, low-risk investments including crypto often target seniors. Renovation scams are also common.
