This program is under Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) that allows individuals and groups to sponsor refugees to come to Canada. In Nova Scotia, this program is a vital part of welcoming newcomers and helping them integrate into the community.

A Sponsorship Agreement Holder is an organization authorized by the Government of Canada to sponsor refugees under the Private Sponsorship Refugees Program. SAHs sign agreements with Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) and can sponsor refugees directly or work with Constituent Groups (CGs) like the Sudanese Association of the Maritimes to fulfill sponsorship responsibilities.
